the Treasury of Athens aside, I was astounded by the location of this ancient treasure. It is impossibly high, perhaps 3,000 feet in the mountains above a valley carpeted with olive trees.
These two closeup shots of the columns, below, are shot inches apart and they form a stereogram. If you view them side by side, then focus into infinity in an attempt to merge the two images, you may be able to see the columns in three dimensions.

I've returned here as I have many times before to view these columns at Delphi. We are sequestered at home in Walnut Creek, CA in the first few months of the novel coronavirus of 2020. So far we both are well.
ReplyDeleteCalifornia has escaped the community spread that New York has seen, There are still no routine testing sites here, nor is there an antibodies test. Many people, including myself have had an unusually bad chest cold this season. For Anna & me it was during our January trip to Puerto Vallarta MX. More than once it has crossed my mind that we may have HAD Covid-19 and thought it was just the flu or the terrible conditions we found in our PV hotel Casa Anita.
My concerns now are for family and friends.
Turns out I had "Iallreadyhadititis". Tested May 14 - negative.
